An Explosive Conclusion to AfriHack Connect 2025, CAPACITI Takes Home 1st Place

Empiras Global Academy proudly wrapped up the 2nd Annual AfriHack Connect event, a collaborative gathering held at UVU Africa in Woodstock, Cape Town. This year’s event showcased an impressive array of talent and innovation from participating teams, creating a lively atmosphere filled with enthusiasm for technology and collaboration.
The day culminated in a series of dynamic presentations from all participating teams, each showcasing their unique projects and solutions to various challenges. The competition was fierce, with numerous institutions vying for the top honors. Ultimately, CAPACITI emerged victorious, narrowly clinching the title and demonstrating exceptional skill, innovation, and emphathy. WeThinkCode_ and the University of Johannesburg followed closely, securing 2nd and 3rd places, respectively, highlighting the remarkable talent pool present at the event.
Special recognition was given to standout individuals with the Most Promising awards, which were awarded to Mogamat Yaseen Kannemeyer from the Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT) and Jackie Musakwa from the University of Johannesburg. Their notable qualities and tenacity stood out among an impressive field of competitors. Additionally, Tshepang George Lechaba from CPUT received the Most Engaged award, acknowledging his outstanding digital enthusiasm and participation throughout the event.
